The Day of Caring is back! Pitt staff and faculty are invited to join us for a day of giving back and engaging with community partners who would benefit from extra help. On October 17, volunteers will head out to locations throughout Pittsburgh to take part in a variety of projects--from gardening, to painting, to cleanups, and more! The Day of Caring is an extension of Pitt's Civic Action Week, whose theme this year is "Enriching Our Community Together."
Date: Friday, October 17, 2025
Time: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Lunch provided!
Reminder: Volunteer Time Guidelines
Volunteering is a meaningful way to make a difference in the communities in which we live, work, and play.
- Faculty may volunteer as many hours as their time and inclination allows.
- Staff are eligible to receive paid time off each month to participate in community service or volunteer activities. Full-time regular staff members may use up to 7.5 hours during regular working hours per month; part-time regular staff members are eligible for pro-rated volunteer time. For more information, including eligibility, how to record volunteer time on your time card, and frequently asked questions, please visit the Volunteer and Professional Development Time Guidelines page on the Office of Human Resources website.
